Kansas. This photo illustrates how some of the early settlers protected their animals in a land where there were few trees. The barn is set into the hillside and constructed primarily of limestone. The original fence was also limestone. Taken in early May.

Beautiful composition, great color. #3340607Karen E. Michaels September 21, 2006
I agree that your piece displays great composition and color saturation. I would prefer a little less on the "dream" side of the piece. I feel too much of it takes away from your good work. Peace, karen #3340895Mary Timman September 21, 2006
Such a beautiful soft setting and lovely bit of history. I really like the dreaminess effect to it. #3340939Connie J. Bagot September 21, 2006
Thanks Jeff, Tamara, Karen, and Mary.Karen, I understand your feelings about the dreamy treatment----and I really appreciate knowing how it struck you. I have mixed feelings about it myself. If time permits I will try to submit a "plain" version of it later in the month.
Mary----thanks for letting me know that you like the dreaminess.
On things like this one would love to be able to take a poll! #3342043

Thanks Deb. #3511662Katherine Kuhn October 29, 2006
Love the composition & colors & would have to weigh in to voting for a little less dreaminess I think, altho that's an interesting counterpoint to the carefully hewn limestone of the barn & hard life those who erected this barn led. Beautiful in any case! #3520933Connie J. Bagot October 30, 2006
