Near Clam Lake in Northwestern Michigan. Exposed for the highlights, then took three bracketed exposures on tripod 2 stops apart in RAW mode. Generated and tone-mapped an HDR image using Photomatix software in order to capture the complete dynamic range of this scene.

Heather, Your hard work paid off. Well done #3358133Heather K. McFarland September 25, 2006
I can do that Jane! Here are the 3 originals just resized. I find it much easier to bracket and create an HDR file than my old method of generally under exposing so that the highlights are not blown, then creating masks for the different tonal ranges (shadows, midtones, and highlights) and doing different curve adjustments on the 3 tone selections. The three images are exposed as EV-2, EV 0, EV+1.7, Apreture priority at F16, Nikkor 28mm lens. #3358572
