I raised this MONARCH [Butterfly Photos, Show Me Pictures of Butterflies]
Uploaded: July 04, 2009 04:55:29
After having 15 cacoons in the house this was one of the butterflies I set free. I placed him on the flower and quickly took his photo. ISO 400 with macro lens on a tripod. This year has been wacky with hundreds of caterpillars on my milkweed. It was fun for our family and friends to watch as the caterpillars made their cacoons and then hatched into beautiful monarch butterflies.

Hi Kathy. Wonderful colours and details with this beauty. We do the same thing here. Right now my 12 yr old son has 5 caterpillars he feeds milkweed to everyday. Another already in the chrysalis. These are great to watch. Have a great 4th. #7702843Melissa Olsen July 04, 2009
