Thank you, Lucia and Janet! This remains one of my favorite images of fog from the Bay Area - San Francisco. (It was chosen for my book cover, too.) After the sun goes down, you get that wonderful pink/blue earth shadow effect at twilight, and being above the fog here, I was able to pick up the colors of in the fog, too. #773772

This is terrific. The trees are like toes sticking out of a blanket. Very nicely done. #2875841

Thanks, Wesley. What a great description - toes sticking out of a blanket - a soft one at that! #2895993

Hello Brenda,
I had a look in your gallery and you shoot very nice photos. I always wondered how to achieve colours like this, reading your response helped me on the way. Do you overexpose shots like this? Thanks and love your photos. BW Corné #4411206

Brenda Tharp June 25, 2007

Thanks, Corné. I sometimes overexposed, with film, to get the fog to be light, rather than gloomy gray, but it always depends upon the situation. With digital, things are changed a little in how we expose, even though the theory still remains the same. #4433613
