Spectacular, magnificent, gorgeous, striking, elaborate, impressive and splendid! Just how did you get this one to turn out so beautiful? What camera did you use? You are definately an artist! Happy New Year Gary! #36289

This is a very lovely shot of winter. Wish I could experience some of that snow. I enjoyed looking through your gallery. I think you must be from Alaska, but the only clue besides the photos was the one shot in Valdez where you mentioned it. This shot should end up on your wall! #36290

This is very beautiful, Gary! You're amazing. I'm glad you are there to take pictures of the winter landscape, because I am definetly going to visit Alaska in the summer. It makes me feel cold just looking at this! #36298

Wow! I liked how this one turned out, but I didn't expect such enthusiastic responses! I'm very flattered and very happy that so many of you really enjoyed it.

Douglas, I'm using a Sony DSC F707. I'm glad you especially enjoyed this photo :-)

Sharon, Yes, the photo is taken in Valdez Alaska. I mentioned it in my gallery bio, but not on the front page. I just fixed my opening blurb to say where I live. It should be more obvious now. Thanks for pointing it out!

Carol Engstrom, A lot of people make a mistake and visit Alaska in mid-summer to fall. It can be beautiful then, but more often than not it's foggy and raining (except maybe the interior). The best time to visit Alaska if you don't like cold would be May, June or early July. There is still snow on the mountains then which makes them prettier plus the daily temperatures are already getting higher and the sun shines a whole lot more. Or....of course, you can always armchair travel through my camera's eye and stay toasty warm!

Kathleen, I'll be doing my best to keep making your decisions difficult :-)

Thank you all once again and I hope you all have bunches of good photo days and opportunities in this New Year :-) #37114

Thanks for the travel tip Gary. My husband and I are hoping to take an Alaskan cruise in 2004--now I know to schedule it earlier in the year. #37124

Sigh... It's hard to pry my eyes away from this one, Gary! It is absolute perfection! I love the composition, lighting, detail, colors - it does look like a painting! This deserves to be shown in an art gallery, as does your other work!
