Anyone for Champagne and Strawberries?
Uploaded: October 28, 2004
Just mucking around with some guys from the camera club. Two flashes were used with soft boxes and slaved to a remote that was triggered when the strawberry hit the champagne. Camera was set to predetermined aperture and shutter was set on bulb to make sure of being open for the flash.

Despite the fact that you spilled some Champagne this is a terrific shot, Adam. Well done. What was the placement of the lights? #873903Kathleen Clemons October 28, 2004 0

Ummm... WOW!!!... Thanks to everyone's comments! I didn't expect such a great response for this image! I think this is where digital comes in very handy. Even thou this was shot on Fuji Superia 400 print film, one of the guys was shooting with his Fuji Digital S2 Pro. After every drop we were able to get an idea of what our cameras would have recorded, albeit at a slighlty different angles. This is something that is quite simple to do. We set up an infinity curved backdrop and had 2 flash heads with soft boxes attached. The main flash was set up almost directly infront but slightly off to the right. The other flash was set with slightly less power and set at about 90 degrees to the left of the main flash. This helped kill any shadow that was falling behind from the champagne glass! If you ever get a chance. Give it a go! It's heaps of fun trying to get different splash effects... and getting the timing right as to when to fire the flashes! :-)Karen Lewis-Gunn November 16, 2004 0
