Until I saw the picture I was thinking you actually looked after him at home until his wing mended. Poor little love. He does look sorry for himself and is definitely grounded.
But what a grand job you did. He looks great up there! I would never have suspected. What a shame you couldn't really do it! #3146734

Thanks so much Dorann, Janine, Carla, Kate, Bill and Jeff for your kind comments.

I did used to work as a rehabilitator, so this picture has special meaning to me.

Mary, I have tears in my eyes. Literally. The beauty of your image is outstanding. It's so perfect with this beautiful bird and that awesome sky as background. And the fact that you helped this gorgeous being back into the sky really touched my heart. Well done. P.S. I love that song. #3148522

I am feeling sad now. I did not mean to mislead anyone. I USED to work as a rehabilitator, but this poor bird was not in my possession and may not have been able to have been helped. I put him in the sky with PHOTOSHOP (only), so sorry! I wish I could have REALLY done so. Mary :-(

Sorry to anyone I unintentionally misled. #3148790

Thank you so much Amaila and Kirsten!!!!

I do have to say that there are birds I did rehbilitate and release successfully. Including a lovey barred owl. Somewhre I have photos and maybe I can share those and that story with you at some point. Also rabbits and squirrels and 'possoms and other birds and lots of other creatures I successfully helped and returned to the wild. Mary :-D #3148917

You did a great job on this picture Mary! Seeing the second picture I already thought that this one might not fly again...poor little thing! I used to work with a faulkner on my free time and these are so proud animals ! #3167855

Beautiful image...Is the bird ok? #3168909

Mary N C. Taitt August 15, 2006

Thanks so much Jen, Carol, Sylvia and Shelly.

It depends on what you mean by OK. It is a teaching bird because it will never be able to fly again, at least that's my understanding. It is being well fed and cared for.
