Aspens in Snow

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE
There is such joy in simple things, a walk in the snow, for example.
This was taken on the Radisson Golf Course in upstate NY.

Why not? What's how people learn about techniques. What I did was to find the edges, invert it and turn it blue. Then I cleaned it up a little. Love, Mom XOX #2217011Stan Kwasniowski December 23, 2005

Thank you for this lovely image, Mary, and for the how-it-was-done. Did you have this manipulation in mind when you pressed the shutter button or did that come later? I'd love to see the original picture.... #2233082Mary N C. Taitt January 05, 2006
Thank you Jill, Tammy, Pat, and David for your kind and thoughtful comments and questions!David--I took the original picture a few years ago with a point 'n shoot while I was out snowshoeing on the golf course near home. I was fascinated by the shadows on the snow and the matching trunks of aspens and the mix of pines among them. Unfortunately, the photograph was not as magical as the scene had looked to me at the time and I tried manipulating it in various ways to recapture what I saw that day. I revisit it from time to time and try again. I will look for the original original and if I find it, I will post it! Thanks Mary :-) #2255869

Thank you, David. I liked the original, but I wanted it to communicate better the magic I saw in it.Mary :-) #2257123
