Mirror Image Shots I have seen lots of baby pictures with the infant laying on a mirror so you shot both the baby and his/her reflection. In almost all the photos, the mirror appears black. Can anyone give me tips on how to do this type of photo? Thanks so much!

It's black because the background is black fabric, and you're seeing a reflection of it. Just hang up the fabric far enough back to keep less light off of it, or block some light from hitting it if your space is too small. It's really simple to do.

Thanks so much Gregory! I'll give it a try today with a friends's baby.

Also, instead of using a mirror, use a piece of black acrylic. You get the same reflection you would with a mirror, but the advantage of the black surface.

Thanks Jeff, acrylic sounds like a great alternative to glass. I appreciate the suggestion and will try it out.
