It's beautiful Patrick! Could I ask where the lake is at? You did a great job.

Sure, Ann. It's east of Redding about 50 miles, off Highway 44. The Lassen Range (mainly the Chaos Crags, Mt. Lassen, and Brokeoff Mountain) is a familiar sight to the east from Redding.

Sorry, Ann, I forgot to say Redding, CALIFORNIA! In the "real" northern California (not the Bay Area, which is actually in the center of the state).

Thank you for telling me, it's one more place I want to see, I showed the picture to my hubby and he wanted to know too.

Thank you Heather and Gary, you are very kind. I used a filter or two to get this pano--can you guess which one(s)?

Hi Patrick. Im guessing you used a SR gold/blue polar filter? Also wondering how many shots are here as I find it impossible to find the joins! Great image. Cheers John johnwhite64@yahoo.com

I have very little experience with filters, but I do occasionally use a polarizer and this definitely appears to have that effect. I wouldn't have any idea what you used to get the red cast though. I am very familiar with Panorama Factory though and am continually impressed with it's ability to make seamless stitches. All you have to do is help it out with straight alignment and >25% overlap and it will give consistently excellent results.

  Looks more like a red/blue polarizer. I have a red/blue....gold/blue...and purple/orange. But use the gold/blue most often.

Hi everyone. John is right on the money, I used a Singh-Ray Gold'n'Blue Polarizer. I also used a 2 stop grad neutral density (ND) filter, to hold back the light on the mountains. Haven't had an opportunity to use the other ones that Heather mentions. I decreased the red. This is a 9 frame pano, John, and I agree with Gary that the Panorama Factory software does a fine job, given the constraints he mentions. I usually try to overlap about 50%, and it does the rest.
