Using fill flash with built in Nikon D300 flash

I am about to purchase a Nikon D300. Does the built in flash adjust for use as a fill flash in daylight?

  Lana,

In case you can't make heads nor tails from W.S's answer, that would be a YES.

Don't expect too much range from the pop up flash in a fill scenario.

If someone can afford a D300 I assume they can read, and correctly interpret, its manual. If not the D300 is not for them.
TBH, if someone holding a D300 asked me that question I would laugh my head off.

W.S. Since when does being able to afford something make them an instant expert at using it? I don't have the camera yet, and couldn't find any info in the reviews about the capabilities of the built in flash. I was just needing reassurance that I could get by for awhile without buying a separate flash. To be truthful, I am a little intimidated after reading the reviews for the D300, but there are several features that the lower end Nikons don't have that are a must for me. I figure I can learn as I go, just as I did teaching myself to use Photoshop. Don't be so quick to judge when you don't know all the facts.

Pete: Thanks for the straightforward answer, which is all I really wanted. Sometimes less is more!

  Hi Lana

I don`t think you will be disappointed in the D300. I just purchased one myself and have a lot more to learn on how to use all it`s features. I`ve had mine for a week now and really like what I done with it so far. There is a ton of information on the web and a lot of videos that can help to understand it more fully. You may already know all this but just in case, here are some you can look at.

They have some good video on the D300 and a lot of other stuff too. Anyway, I think you will really like it.

Had you Googled "Nikon D300 manual", it would have been the top hit. And then you could have gotten your reassurance from the horse's mouth: Nikon! But you didn't. And now you're getting your reassurance from whatever is typed here by whomever...?

That's a remarkable gem of logic, lady.

Hey Lana, I have this gorgeous beachfront property for sale overhere that has YOUR name on it! It's an opportunity of a lifetime. Belonged to a little old lady. Yada-yada-yada...
