Copyright Logo - How to Do It? How does one put a copyright logo onto their photos? On printouts and on Web site pictures - with the photographer's logo and/or name? Might be a silly question, but this is something I would like to do. Thanks.

Hi, Mark! All I do is have a PS file that has my name and xopyright symbol (c) (Alt + 0169) on it as a text layer. Saved as a psd file. I open that when I do my photos, and just use the move tool (double arrows) to click and drag it from there onto the photo in my "tray", then I move it on that photo to the position I want it to be in and save it as a JPEG. That flattens the photo file and your copyright symbol (c) is part of your photo. I know there are ways to create a brush or action to do this more quickly, but I haven't had time to learn it yet. Hi Mark, Laura's option works, but I have found that a much better option is to create a brush that will act like a stamp of whatever you have in the brush. It is more flexible than the other method as it's easier to place it where you want it, and to change it's size or color to fit the image. Here are the steps to setup the brush (I'm using Photoshop CS2, but it should work on most versions of PS): - Open a new blank document in Photoshop Now just put it to use! Select that new brush, set the size/colour/opacity, and click once on an image where you want your name/copyright to appear. I hope this helps! set up a saved metadata thingy in the file info. as well. for everyphoto you can apply the setting that have your info. quickly. that way the file itself has your "signature". there's a cool thing in PS where you can go into the image processor and have it apply your saved metadata to every image you want. then you can set it up and let it run while you take a nap and your files will have all the info... good stuff......

Ok, now I feel bad. I spent some time trying to do the great instructions that John provided, and STILL, can't do it. I have PS 4.0. Does anyone know if that makes a difference in the instructions provided by John?

This was a 'recipe' I received. This is how I made mine. I've tried that +0169 and I just cannot get it to work - so the above does it for me, although I can never get the brush to STAY - i.e. when I move to different types of brushes and look for it again, I can't find it, so I then have to redefine it!!

Thanks Robyn! Everything works..... except when you go to click on, "to define brush" it's not highlighted, therefore you cannot click on it to name your new brush.... whats up??

Great tip & instructions John! I just created two stamps... one with © & my name... the other reads "PROOF - do not copy" And it took some playing around, but I figured out how to change the color of the brush to use a different color for different photos. Meaning... black may not work for all photos. I'm still very much a newbie to PS7 and that was an awesome tip!!!!

Not sure Mark, how did you save it? I've saved mine as a jpeg - i.e. open a doc., type for eg 2006, save as a jped. Then when I open PS, and can't find it - I select a brush lets say a Hard, Round 13 pixels, I go back up to Open, find the document, then go to edit, define brush or pattern - never to sure which is which, but this is how I muddle through!

So glad you sorted out Mark :) Aaron, I've never got it right with the 0169, not sure if its Ctrl or alt, and the do you actually type the + or what, I just use the brush and a symbol

you hold down alt, then type 0169. it's not just for photoshop. it's a standard for many programs. the plus is usually when they say alt +0169, meaning that you should hold down the alt key. (plus meaning "in addition to") -aaron

When I hit shift U to get the custom shape tool, the copyright symbol was in the brush selection box without me having to alt, "plus" 0169. So, since it was selected, I just placed it on my page/image.

I tired that in word, (didn't work, I have two alt keys, do I push themboth?)I don't have photo shop, still new at this..but use Picassa..how do I do it and get it to my pictures?
