In my opinion it must be just you. I have been here since August 2007 and I still love seeing the flowers, birds and babies that are displayed here at BP. I think every photographer has certain things they prefer to photograph and enjoy sharing them here at BP without restrictions. Not sure MaryAnne what your idea is with needing new sheriffs in town?

Perhaps you may be thinking more fine art photography. There are as many types of photographers as there are people. Good is Good, no matter the type.

Yes I am thinking of fine art photography and creative shots with intentions behind them, conceptual, interesting and unique. Not carbon copies. SOME of the birds and flower shots are simply journalism. Here is a flower and here is what it looks like. It's just not interesting. We all know what a bird looks like. BTW..I have 2 birds in my gallery. Tammy "it must be just you", is a good laugh and an insult no well received. I do not appreciate being insulted in an open forum in a world were freedom of speech is such a treasure. I assure you, it is not just my opinion. There are many conceptual artist on this site, that agree with me. I look forward to seeing your gallery, you probably have more creative, conceptual and non-carbon copy photos than it sounds like in your comment. Good for you if you love seeing birds. You stated your opinion and I stated mine. Thank goodness we live in a world where freedom of speech is considered a great thing. " it must be just you"... an odd and immature insult. thank you for your in put. Happy photo to all.

Tammy, You have some really nice photos. I would hang some of them in an art gallery. "Natural Framing" is one of my favourite shots. Your photos are not the type of photos I was referring to. So no need to be defensive. Your photos are nice. They are not staged journal photos. They are free and in the moment; really lovely.

Tammy I just peeked at the editors picks today and they are a nice cross section of all types of photos. I love it. There are so many genres of photography, I simply would like to see them all represented...as long as they are fantastic. thank you for your input....and NO, its not just me. Just look at who won awards today. No, its not just me.

Sorry you took this as an insult. Not intended. Just restated what you stated. Thanks for your opinion but this will be the last I say about this. Thanks.

Well, since flowers are my favorite photography subject (as they are with quite a few other BP members, I'm sure), as long as there's a category for them here at BP I'll keep adding them to my gallery. And yes, no matter how numerous they are, I enjoy (and get inspired) by seeing other members' work; so as far as I'm concerned, keep 'em coming.

Well Monnie, that's 2 of you now. Clearly I am out numbered. LOL. Thank Goodness the judges enjoy conceptual work, because I already know what a flower looks like. I have thousands of them in my 5 gardens, mostly perenials from different countries. thank goodness for freedom of speech and the freedom to express ourselves artistically or the world would be a big cookie cutter.

Literally , that means: what ever someone looks at is beautiful to them. I am not that easily impressed. Yes. I am not like that. I enjoy things that have integrity.. A flower is a flower....wait for some nice lighting... And take a photo. And Wow it's painful to see someone try to photoshop a beautiful flower. Mother Nature should sue for plagiarism. :) and distruction of intellectual property . I love flowers. In my garden , not on my wall. To each there own. If we all thought the same. We would be like massed produced tacky postcards.
