10D problem


 
 
Suddenly, my new 10 D Canon is malfunctioning. Half the picture is not processing correctly. I'll try to attach a photo. Can anyone tell me what's happening---so I can explain it to the tech department intelligently?

Are you using a hot shoe mounted flash unit?

This sounds very much like a flash snyc issue...

no hot shoe mount. I even called Canon yesterday and they had me reset the camera's memory---but to no avail. THey said to send it in.
