Sekonic L-358 PC Cord Plug-In

I have a Sekonic L-358 light meter and I'm unable to plug in the PC-style synch cord to it to measure the flash from the studio lights. It doesn't seem to want to fit. Is there a trick to this? Is it suppose to fit, or is there an extra attachment that I need?

The metal things, think the word is flanges, at the tip could be too close together. The part that plugs in has the metal things around the contact in the middle. Just spread those apart a little and see if it fits.

I figured out what had gone wrong. The tiny sleeve from my PC/hot shoe adapter that I use with my Nikon N80 had come off with the flash sync cord plug. It kept it from fitting the sekonic plug. I was able to pull it out gently with a small plier. Everything fits fine now.
