Shutter Release Cable I recently purchased the Nikon F55 and am an absolute beginner with SLR cameras. I like taking photos of the ocean, sunsets, sunrises etc and was disappointed to find that the F55 does not have a shutter release cable portal. It just wasn't a question I thought to ask when purchasing the camera as I assumed that all cameras have a shutter release cable. So my question is how do I overcome camera shake when pressing the button on long exposure shots. Thanks Regards, Patsy

Most movement occurs when you are depressing and/or releasing the shutter button. Try mounting your camera on a sturdy tripod and mask the lens with a piece of black card stock while you depress the shutter. Then, hold your breath and count off the required number of seconds for the exposure. Re-mask the lens, and release the shutter.

I agree with Greg...I have a shutter release cable, but ofter use the timer instead of searching the bag for the cable. Chris

I was referring to a "bulb" setting for long exposures. After researching your camera, I found that you have access to shutter speeds up to 30 seconds. Greg and Chris are right on....Use the timer!

I purchased a remote for my Nikon N65, you may want to check to see if the N55 has one available. It works great for the family shots and longer exposures.
