Wrong lens?
Can anyone tell me if the Sigma 28-80 lens is compatible with my Canon XTi? I bought it and it keeps bringing up Error 99, whatever that means.
Any help will be appreciated!

Some older Sigma lenses have a communications problem with newer Canon EOS digitals. Did you buy that lens used? Newer Sigma lenses typically don't have that problem anymore. I think you can still contact Sigma and have the lens upgraded, though. I believe it is a free fix. Chris Vedros

I had the same error with a used Sigma 105mm Macro lens I purchased. I sent to Sigma, they fixed for free. I got back in less then a week.
