Batteries and Lenses

Hello everyone. I am having a problem with my batteries. I have a Nikon d200 and I just upgraded to a F2.8 70-200 lense. Now I am having problems with my batteries keeping charged. They might last 15 minutes. Whats going on? Help please!

Which 70-200 f/2.8? Sigma's HSM lenses (incl. 70-200 f/2.8 EX HSM) had an issue with the D200 and were subject to a service notice (ie. recall). See LINK. I don't know if that would affect the batteries or the charge level display.

  Hey Jon,

It is the Nikon Nikkor.

Then I'm stuck. Maybe just defective battery or charger?

Nikon had a recall on the early versions of the battery for the D200. You may want to check into that. I'm assuming you are not using the vertical grip with battery pack?

I too use the D200 with my Nikkor 70-200 VR 2.8 but have no battery problems with that lens or any other for that matter. I also use the vertical grip battery pack but you should not need that to use the lens. I think Jon is correct with the defective battery theroy.
