Problem with Pentax *ist DL

For some reason, everytime I attach a smc Pentax-F 35-70mm/1:3.5-4.5 to my Pentax *ist DL, it refuses to take any pictures, and the Av keeps flashing. This never happen before now. Perhaps the settings need to be adjusted? Any idea on how to fix it? Any advice would be great.

I believe that the *ist DL requires that the aperture be set with controls on the camera rather than the lens aperture ring. Try setting the lens aperture to "A".

Jon is right. I bet you need the lens aperture set to A. I ran into the same problem when I first owned my Pentax.
