Nikon Coolpix 4300 eating batteries I have had my Nikon Coolpix 4300 for 3-4 years now and never had any problems until batteries started dying a couple shots into them. So I bought new ones. I can't even get one shot now without it dying. What is happening? Thanks for any advice

About the only thing you can do I think is double check to make sure the battery chamber doesn't have any corrosion or pieces of metallic gunk that are shorting out the terminals. If so, clean it out well using cotton swabs and pencil erasers, maybe an emery board. However, my guess Nicole, is that your camera has developed a short-circuit in its electrical system beyond the battery chamber that's either causing your batteries to drain or just not operate the camera or both. Unless you're a qualified repair tech, you need to take it to someone who is so that they can isolate the electrical problem and either replace the defective board or part that's causing it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Could be a cheap fix, but you don't know until you take it in. Take it light.
