Put a Santa Hat and Scarf on??? I would like to add a Santa Hat and Scarf to a Prairie Dog, but do not have a clue on how to do it. I was really hoping that someone could help guide me with directions on how to accomplish this? I would really appreciate it. Thank you,

Take a picture of a hat and scarf in a way that it lays the same way as if it were being worn. Then you cut it out and add it to your prairie dog photo.

So you are saying that is it? Its that cut and dry? How do I make it look right/normal though? Sizing it? I will give it a go and see what happens. Thank you for your input..

Okay – first off, it is important to know that prairie dogs don’t really appreciate being dressed as Santa Claus. Of-course, to us they look cute in those little red and white outfits, so why not? First step is to lasso that dog and hold him down while you get the hat and scarf onto his little body. Second step is to make him pose, try snacks and flattery; it might get you the picture you want! Alright, I just couldn’t resist, it’s been a long trip and I’m tired and cranky and just a few days ago I was trying to photograph prairie dogs in the snow and it was a real pain! But, for real now, yes, it is that easy – if you use Photoshop or elements you can simply cut the hat and scarf, take into a blank image (file –new- select dimensions or use default settings) and then size that image to the dimensions you want and finally cut it again and bring into your final image and fit it to the subject. It is fairly easy – at least I can do it and I’m pretty klutzy in PS – so I suspect you will not have real trouble. When you are done post it for us to see and to get a laugh! Irene

The key would be not having it look cheesy. Unless that is what you want for the humor. But it is fairly straight forward. It's more about being precise to make it look good. I would duplicate how the prairie dog is lit when you do the hat and scarf.

Prairie Dogs love elephant jokes. Tell him a few to loosen him up, then ask about the suit. :-) http://www.betterphoto.com/forms/qnaDetail.php?threadID=30892
