Don't let anyone tell you photography isn't educational. I'd never seen such creatures as these before. I've determined they're commonly called cotton stainer bugs (Dysdercus suturellus) for their habit of feeding and leaving behind stains on cotton (and also oranges and hibiscus). Their habitat is primarily southern Florida. When I shot this, the only thing I was paying much attention to was the one bug. Only later did I realize I had another - one that looked completely different. I finally determined though that it's the same type of bug, just seen directly from the side. For the PG101 bugs theme. It's a great close-up!! Love the contrast of the red and black. Nicely composed. And I love the information about the cotton stainer bug. :)
