Repaint & Thin No More

BetterPhoto.com Photo Contest SECOND PLACE Winner   Repaint & Thin No More
Repaint & Thin No More
This week I wanted to 'fool the eye'! So first I took an image of the lips & then one of the man on the ladder on the side of my house. I didn't have any red paint, so I made a look-a-like using pancake mix, ketchup and food coloring. I was surprised it matched so well. Lips F5 1/25 iso 100 @ 59mm & the Ladder F8 1/15 iso 100 @ 18mm. Layered the 2 images and removed the background in PSE version 16.

How cleaver! Of all the nw photos I saw, yours stood out. I really love the creativity. Could you explain "I didn't have any red paint, so I made a look-a-like using pancake mix, ketchup and food coloring. I was surprised it matched so well." Not quite sure how you used it in the photo....thanks.

Thank you Karen! I didnt have any paint to put on the brush to make it look like it was covered in paint, so I mixed up pancake mix and added everything red I could think of to make the batter red so it would like like paint that matched her lipstick on the brush.

Karen Anderson it occurred to me later I needed to explain that the man on the ladder has a real brush with that red mixture on it is actually leaning on the side of my house. The lips image was combined with the ladder pic to make this composite. So I tried to make the paint match the lipstick color. Hope this helps????
